DEMOCRITUS ASSOCIATION

Essentials

Democritus Association is an international non-government organisation without firm links to political parties and government authorities but founded to address them with initiatives in the crucial cultural and academic causes of the present-day world. It functions as a non-political spiritual community of intellectuals interested in the methodology of science and worried about the disquieting symptoms of the cultural crisis that accompanies the twilight of Old Europe and the coming of Postmodernist Globalism.

Principles

Democritus Association offers unbiased scientific theoretical platforms for all parties with a constructive program defending progress, humanity, democracy, rationalism, egalitarianism, emancipation and human rights. It publishes manifestos enforcing pioneering trends in philosophy, science, literature and arts. It brings statistic maps of cultural development describing periodicity in human history. It fights with the world-wide flood of superstitious irrationalism plaguing post-modern sciences and shows its roots in the post-modern fundamentalism. It reveals the same rotten germs in the Arabic Muslim fundamentalism as well as in the Western religious conservatism. N. Berdyayev, C. Thurrow and J. Keller greeted our age as a revival of feudalism and the coming of the New Middle Ages.

Methods

Democritus Association was founded to promote a Project of Unified Science (PUS) initiated by the Austrian Wienerschule and Moritz Schlick's Journal of Unified Science. It appeals to governments, ministries of education, academies of science, research institutes and colleges to carry out urgent reforms in academic studies, mitigate the enormous impact of the irrational lobby in the tabloid media and liberate research from ephemeral ideologies.
